VCI Legal has recently expanded its Banking, Finance and Capital Markets practice by hiring two recognized practitioners in the field: Son Van Nguyen and Thang Dang.

Son Nguyen and Thang Dang have advised and represented clients, including major international and domestic banks, financial institutions and MNC’s in Vietnam in private practice in addition to legal and financial matters they handled while working for SeABank , VIB, Standard Chartered Bank and Prudential Assurance respectively.

Before joining VCI Legal, Son started his career with Philips Fox and for Indochina Legal. With over 15 years of experience, Son advises on the full spectrum of financial matters including acquisition finance, asset finance, project finance, financial regulatory, insolvency and restructuring a s well as IPO and private equities.

Thang Dang has over 10 years of experience advising extensively on banking, finance and corporate matters. Prior to joining VCI Legal, he worked as general legal counsel for Samsung Electronics, as regional compliance officer for Siemens .

VCI Legal’s two new hires comes as an addition to the joining of Kent Wong as new partner and Head of the Banking, Finance and Capital Markets practice in November 2012.

Kent was named an Asialaw Leading Lawyer in Banking & Finance/Capital Markets (Korea) in 2012. Previously a senior attorney and partner at APEX LLC, a first tier law firm in Korea, Kent represents major Korean financial institutions investing overseas (especially in A SEAN countries) as well as foreign clients with business interests in Korea and Vietnam.
