The World Bank’s Benchmarking Infrastructure 2020 Research Project in Vietnam (“Research Project”) is a part of the Benchmarking Infrastructure Global Initiative. This Research Project assesses the quality of the legal and regulatory framework during the Public-Private Partnerships project cycle and Traditional Public Investment project cycle.

Kent Wong, a partner and Head of Banking and Finance at VCI Legal, was invited to provide expert opinions for the Benchmarking Infrastructure 2020 Research Project data surveys regarding two indicators published by the Benchmarking Infrastructure 2020 report, in particular:

  • Public-Private Partnerships in Infrastructure in Vietnam which assesses experience with PPPs, an overview of the legal and institutional framework for PPPs, and then an evaluation of key features in PPP preparation, procurement, and contract management.
  • Traditional Public Investment in Infrastructure in Vietnam which assesses experience with TPIs, an overview of the legal and institutional framework for TPIs, and then an evaluation of key features in TPI preparation, procurement, contract management, and infrastructure asset management.

The Research Project aims to promote transparency and efficiency in the preparation, procurement and management of large infrastructure projects. By participating in the Benchmarking Infrastructure 2020 Research Project., VCI Legal has continued its commitment to support and contribute to the development of Vietnam’s legal system.
